Sigh
This piece is intended partly to investigate the experience of viewing artwork from the point of view of the art itself and the dullness of a pedestalled life. It also might be simply about melancholy. An orchid quietly sits in its pot until every now and then it releases a deep sigh. The leaves fold against the stem in a shrug, and the flower's 25articulated parts also work together to stretch and fold the petals into a shrugging gesture. The breath of the sigh is produced from a large bellows inside the pedestal. © All images, texts and the idea of the artists work are subject to the German copyright law and if pro rata the relevant collecting society and if pro rata the photographer.
