Born in Egypt and immigrated to New Zealand in 1963. Upon completing his degree at Victoria University, Wellington, he traveled to London continuing studies at Chelsea School of Art. Returning to Wellington three years later he began exhibiting work in private and public galleries. In 1998, Dimopoulos began to explore movement through the medium of sculpture. In 2001 he created Pacific Grass the first wind sculpture in a series commissioned by the Wellington Sculpture Trust for the City of Wellington. Pacific Grass was awarded the Inaugural Wellington Civic Initiative for Sculpture. This
