Bonsai
"Bonsai" is the largest single kinetic wind sculpture David has made to date. The trunk of this whimsical tree is made of steel. A patina process has been used to turn the steel a dark rust color. The three paddle wheels that top the sculpture are made of steel, copper, and stainless steel. Precision bearings ensure that these paddle wheels turn in even the slightest breeze. "Bonsai" is currently on loan to the Nevada Museum of Art, Reno, Nevada, USA. © All images, texts and the idea of the artists work are subject to the German copyright law and if pro rata the relevant collecting society and if pro rata the photographer.
